one thing i know they do in the states on club trips (not comps) is drill an inspection hole in the cage at a non critical point.
can you xray it or something to tell wall thickness, or use harmonics or wave frequency or some such crap?
maybe have a HUGE fine for breeching the tube thickness rule, and any cage that gets bent gets cut up and tested?

OZ Rock minimum weight requirement
Moderator: evanstaniland
I would put it to any of the Vics with there Zook based buggies that they would weigh more than 1000kg anyway .Sure they weigh 900 odd kg standard ad the bigger tyres winch compressor ARB"s and i can bet that all the tube work weighs more than what the body did originally. Then bigger diffs and there you go you have added probably close to 2-300kg.
We are trying to unight the sport on a National level it would seem sensible to make the rules the same so we can compete in all events.
Just My 2 Cents.

After long discussions, the OZ Rock commitee has come up with a decision.
We will be enforcing a 1000kg min weight limit, this will help people that will be constructing vehicles that will be competing in multiple events.
We will also be enforcing the type of tube rule as of 2007, no pipe.
Also we will be enforcing the wrist restraint and or window net rule at Yea 2005 and also 2 fire extinguishers rule. We will not back down on these rules as they are safety rules.

NOW ABLE TOO SAY WHAT I WANT WITHOUT FEAR OF LOOSING SALES.

Its OZrock, not world rock, and running yank rules is not running world rules Thats my 2cents, and the yanks still havnt got all there rules in line yet, plus there is enough similaritys in the rules that a buggy could be built to run in both,
do U have a copy of our rules?
