If u wanna do it yourself and on the cheap but effective, go to a jap wrecker and buy a Series 4 RX7 intercooler they cost around $200-$250 ea and flow 370cfm. Mount the cooler where u want it then figure out your piping, how many bends u will need and what angle. Then go to an exhaust shop and buy the bends and a straight piece should cost u no more than $80 fit it all up, tack it in place then weld it up properly and finish it off with a nice coat of paint. 8)
If you are in Sydney i have 2 S4 RX7 coolers 4 sale, 1 for $150 or 2 for $250 and yes you can cut the end tanks off and join 2 together.

Re mazda intercooler, what would be the minimum flow requirements of a turbo TD42 nissan?
Also, what is joining two together going to do to the overall efficiency/airflow.

Dunno what the flow requirements of the td42 would be.
Greater surface area catches more air and cools the charge more effectively giving you lower intake temps.
I've got cooler cores that'll REALLY cool down the TD42. Trouble is, they don't fit behind the grill.
Most of the intercoolers I build are for stinking hot rotors, VL's and Skylines. I've got bar & plate cores 300mm high by 400mm & 600mm long and 76mm thick.
It's the thickness that's the problem with fitting to most 4x4's.
Regards Andrew.
ps here's a tube & fin one for a supercharged Falcon.
