** second air beadlocks. what pressure do they require**

Post by LUCIFER »

Hi all.. just curious as to what internal pressure these second air beadlocks require to operate correctly?.. does the pressure in the second air need to be increased or decreased if tyre pressure is alternated at all..

any help would be appreciated..

do you have any problems with them?

cheers

hey there lucifer im pretty sure second airs need 32- 36 psi to operate correctly, how much did you end up getting for the claws and what tyres you got now

Hey frig, i brought a new set of 36" x 12.5 pedes. now on 15 x 10" rockcrawlers and second airs.. i pretty much gave the claws away, but they had to go..

i have 32 psi in the s/airs now.. ill wait and see how it pans out i spose. should be ready to peel the new stickers off the tyres tommorow arvo. a few minor intercooler modifications to go and should be right.

cheers

I run 40 psi in the second airs with the tyres down around 12psi. When you drop the tyre pressure the second airs do drop a bit.

I found mine go down a bit over time and you need to top them up. Otherwise you think 12psi will be fine until the bead pops off! I learnt the hard way lol

When I had them fitted I was told to run them at 40-45 psi regardless.

As noted above, when you change either of the pressures, it also effects the other, I've found it best to set the seconair, adjust the tyre pressure, then make adjustments to the secondair again.

hi, what sort of pressure drop should i be expecting??

so correct me if im wrong here... when you drop the tyre pressure the beads are under less pressure so by pumping up the s/airs the side wall pressure increase will do its job by keeping the beads in place.
