keep on snapping the 2 vertical links at either end of the sway bar in the rear. (yes ive had them extended) but this is like the 3rd time they have snapped. It kept falling foward on the way home and rubbing on the driveshaft

what kinda driving were u doing at the time?!
mine are extended pretty booty fab style on the ute for traveling i've never snapped them

just some wheeling. bit of a hill... tackled a hard bit on the angle, went to accelerate and sorta like put a bit of pressure on it/flexin it up a bit cos of the situation then SNAP no sway bar.
Not that much of a concern to me, just wondering if that is likely to be the cause...

yeh flexing it up with lift causes it .. theres alot of strain there when u flex it ...
but yeh u don't need them .. they limit ur flex
good idea to have them on the road tho ...

yeah? in terms of legal issues etc? are you able to run without them on the road legally or is it purely comfort/body roll type thing. I did notice its more side to side but it doesn't really phase me as I only really use the car on weekends, and occasionally 1 or 2 days through the week...
I probably would get quick disconnects but i don't think i would use them as when i go offroad i doubt i would bother taking it off, just deciding if i should leave em off, or get som new/stronger links that are the right length and won't snap.

Legally if it had them fitted then you have to have them. But that's actually a bit questionable if some of the model range didnt (since you're normally allowed to swap parts within the model legally).
Wouldnt want to be facing a prison sentence for killing someones kid to find out for sure.
I have one swaybar with disconnects but have thought about mounting the diconnects down say the driver sside and extended links the other side.

why would you quick disconnect one side only? wouldnt the extended links still have an effect on the passenger side?
I thought that too. I've taken the rear factory sway disco. off so I can try to extend the shaft (somehow
), and find that the passenger side is restricted with the link pin on still. But in saying that, if you use a disco both sides, wouldnt the swaybar hang down?DEEV8, how much did you extend the pins by? (about to do mine on a 3" lift so may try longer)
