VENT ON MANIFOLD?????? AND AUTO QUESTION

Post by OVERKILL ENG »

Took the Vit out for a good flogging Saturday night.
When on a really step incline there appeard to be a lot of engine oil coming out of a little fitting looks like some sort of breather at the back of the inlet manifold it meets the block may even be in the block any ideas as to why it is there and can it be blocked off.??
Also a couple of times the auto wouldn't take off in first gear would try and take off in second.I would have to reverse a little then try again and then it would select first. And yes i had manually selected firts gear with the shifter.

Its just a Crank Case Breather it can be blocked some have this an others dont. As long as you have breathers on the Tappet cover it should be fine.

The Auto problem is tipical of a 727. The homeless also does this.

Cool thanks Ruff.
Yes it does have breathers in bothe rocker covers so i will block it off.
The Auto problem will frustrate me.Although i was wheeling with Glenn Saturday night and his was doing the same thing so that made me fell a little better.
