Only problem would be the G52. Thats a bit like a match up between Tyson and Mundine.... Whats going to happen after a few big hooks?

I'd look into sourcing a box out of a V6 4Runner. The R150F is practically a Supra Turbo box, and is more than capable of keeping a V8 in check...

But yeah, give Rob at RodShop a call and see what he thinks. Another knowlesgable bloke is Scott from Venom Racing up in QLD.

basically what i was trying to get at is, is there a factory bellhousing that would bolt up to both?
back to topic of the thread does anybody have any info on rover v8 to g52 gearbox?

Well, your best bet is to make a 2 minute call to the companies mentioned above and find out ;)
There's also Marks Adapters who is worth a try.

Besides, my previous post is not so much off topic. I think along with many others who i'm sure can back me up, that a G52 wont last behind a V8. Though it's up to you, depends how much you like rebuilding gearboxes.....

i think the g52 is under rated. ive had one in my lux behind the v8 for 4 years now and it gets caned pretty hard and havent had an ounce of drama with it.

I reckon the conversion makes sense, light motor not overly powerful but plenty in hilux.

I agree, 5th gear is a bit weak as with many 5 speeds, and the bearings can get noisey, but they still make bearings. . If you drive like a dickhead you can bust anything. I've busted several toploaders behind holden V8's over the years, but the ford boys will tell you they are bulletproof.
