60series rear windows

Post by vanzbrown »

Ok, ive had a bit of a search, but just wanted to know did the later 60series come out with solid rear side windows (not the sliding ones).

Seen a 62series with solids in it today, and not sure if thats how they come out, or are aftermarket solid windows available. Those sliding ones are a PITA...

Just curious!

Thanks

I dunno, my sliding ones dont really open, and i think they leak a bit, and there is all sorts of stuff growing in the middle the two.

Would just be curious to see if you could get replacement ones.

base model comes with fixed glass

I have a base model with fixed glass and mines a 89 HJ60.

im sure it would be just a matter of finding the glass and rubber surround and theyd go straight in.

Sounds easy enough, should solve the leaking issue aswell.

Yeh mine leak too and I have some nice green moss growing there as well. I have seen a few 61 and 62'2 with fixed glass. In the US, the sliding windows are like gold. Should sell mine over there.

Ihave the same problem, the sliding windows spout the dust into the cabin and the mould growing in the join is well, interesting.

Mould hey,

my question is if you know its there and you all think its a bit interesting why don't you just bloody give it an arse whooping with bleach? :finger:

My windows are tops and don't leak a bit (sliders too). Mine is an 83 FJ60 and when I bought it one of the rubbers was cracked due to sun deterioration. I simply got to it with some gasket silicon and shes been right since.

I reckon you should stay with the sliders cause they are tops for ventilation when your passed out pissed in the back. :D

Cheers
