Yep, sold the Pro Comp GU and bought a FJ62. 5 g's and it was in my name. 4sp Auto, petrol, bars and stuff. Like a new one. Thanks Simon.
Auto sounds a bit gay (not that there's anything wrong with that) but those who knock autos really ought to take one for a spin in the bush.
Just had a 4" suspension system custom built and once the 35 simex's are on I will decide upon ratios. (4.56 maybe) Air Lockers at the same time as ratios, the race spec winch and the GPS from the GU and it will be a formidable unit. That will do for the family rig and building Navruns - low cost (sub 10K) and strong.
Also got a Hilux lined up to complete building and race. Will weigh in at about 1.2t and 200+kw. You can't beat a Pootrol by being one too - they are getting pretty darn quick so I figured to try something a bit out there.
I have had about 20 4wd's of which only 3 were Nissan and embarrassed to say 2 were rover. But I recovered and the rest were toyotas. I had a HJ62 (12HT) and an 80 (now Simon and Miranda's from 4x4TV) both at the same time. The 62 was stronger in every regard and just as capable - but yes the coils were nice and on road the 4.5 80 had power.
So you see there was toyota in me all along.
It's great to be back..
