Gearbox from 3B into 45 ser?

Post by V8 Middy »

Will the gearbox from a BJ73 fit into an FJ45? Will the ratios work for a petrol 308?

A mate of mine wanted to know.

Thanks

i think that the input shafts are different between the gearboxes behind the 4cyl models and the 6 cyl models, different length and possibly different spline count.

Yes, the spline counts are different. 10 spline in the FJ, 21 in the BJ. Longer input and bell also, but the they can be replaced.
