loud popping suspension noise on feroza/us rocky

Post by Kickingback99 »

H :grab: I have a loud popping noise in the front end when I back out of my driveway. Comes from right or left side depending on which direction I back out. Anybody have any ideas where i need to look?

does it happen when you first start backing up or when you turn your wheels as you back up or what? need more specifics so we can try to narrow it down. meanwhile...

take a look at your cv joints, hubs, boots, grease up your ball joints if needed. see if you can spot anything abnormal.

Sounds like the old steering stop noise on suspension compression?

Yeah that was the first thing I noticed when I got my feroza. Grease up the steering stoppers and it should stop.

happens when i turn wheels all the wayand backup over even a small drop. Usually when i back down out of my driveway. Noticed upper ball joints seem to be leaking. I need to grease all the joints anyway will try that first.

That sounds exactly like one of my noises!!

When I reverse out and the front wheels clear the driveway, sometimes you get a scraping/crunching type noise, its got me fucked. When on full lock it would also make a knocking noise, greasing the steering stoppers fixed that.

I think the noise is to do with fucked front shocks, maybe yours is the same?

If you find out what it is, please let me know!

Cheers

Ok, not to sound too much like a newbie, which i am anyways, but what does the steering stopper look like and where are they located. Obviously I know they have to be in the front, and I assume near the wheels? Thanks for help.
