All Pro Offroad Hi steer
Ive been on the phone to AllPro Offroad in the US of A in regards to a hi steer kit for my lux, but they wont make any right hand drive arms as they dont have the market for it (der). Just wondering if there is anyone else on here that is keen for hi steer ASAP so that we may be able to get enough interest for them to make some RHD arms

If you want to get a kit from the US i wouldnt be hasseling AllPro. I would be going for one of the other companies that are making arms. Sky Manufacturing do a good arm and i know they have made RH drive kits in the past. Or Marlin. Both of these companies are more likely to make a one off or a small run.
4x4 Labs has done RHD steering arms for a few Japanese import MWB cruisers. Luke, the owner, has designed a steering arm that places the tie rod behind the diff:

Have you spoken to Sky directly yet craig? I got a quote for dilivery to my door for 3-5 days on the $210 arms and when I ask for production times and account details to pre-pay I get nothing back. I've been talking to whiteknight from here in PM and he tried ringing sky on the weekend but they weren't open. Checked out the LAB site and found the paragraph below. They aren't billet but they do mount the tierod behind the diff. They are a bit over $100AUD more than the Sky arms which makes them just under $500AUD dilivered to Brisbane (provided they shipping is similar to the sky arms and they dont charge extra for the RHD privilege). Also just out f interest I'll post the explanation of what the "Ackerman" part is. my arms cost me $340 aus landed and i got them from sky about a year ago. look at his trading times, he is very hard to get hold of and you need to ring either 30 mins after opening or before closing to get him. mine are rhd and setup for the axle to be 5.5 inch forward of standard.

I rang SKY this morning although there was no-one there at the time that could answer my questions..
Will wait to see how Craig goes, but i am definatley in for a set if they get organised and the price doesn't alter..
The E-mail they sent me indicated that they were definately going to run a batch it was just call them to find out more info..

OK, just got off the phone to Sky manufacturing. He said it will be about a month til they do some RHD arms. He has interest from 5-6 people for RHD arms (im assuming that myself, Hybrid and whiteknight are in that group). He will be making ten sets, so if there is any one else interested, let me know via PM. He will be emaling all the people that have contacted him in regards to making some RHD arms, when he is ready to make them.
Shipping for a whole Hi steer kit is around $160 USD (Priority - 4-6 days), or, $70 USD (economy - 4-6 weeks). Im also assuming that if you were to buy just the arms, shipping would be cheaper.
The arms are $210 USD a pair.

we have RHD arms in stock. we use sky pitman arms and put the large GM tapers into them, they are $125.
my forward facing arms use the stock landcruiser style drag link configuration where the drag link drops into a hole in the tie rod end.
if you're going to use fj80 TRE's you may have to taper the other way on the drag link hole when you flip the TRE to ride on top of the steering arm, or get a left hand drive part, then it would be correct.
the rear facing arms the trick setup if you have enough room under the oil pan for it.

I am interested in just the arms from sky, the 4x4 labs one wont fit my setup (will hit sump), I'd also prefer to use 80s TREs.

LABs make the normal forward facing arms too. But they work out to be $90USD more than the sky ones. The only diff I can see is that lukes arms take into account the ackermens principle which does help with steering and turning circle. I can't really understand where he's coming from here. They have replied to all bar two of my emails, and that was when the guy I was talking to in regards to the kit (Andy) quit, so I just assumed they were trying to sift thru all their stuff and get to what they could.
