Hi,
Im looking at getting a Mu.
i am interested in hearing people opinion on what they are like as daily drivers and weekend 4wd.
Which is the issue of 4wd monthly that feature the Ifs mu? i might have to order a back order.
Has anyone done a similar lift to the ifs? is so, what was the cost?
Also, what is the fuel consuption like on the diesel?
Is there any good websites that have any good pics?
Sorry for the questions and thank you in advance.

the disels are pretty good, same as the rodeo, the guy is a 4wd monthly employee or writer or something. the IFS lifts are pretty good, but you stell have the same travel arc, and for the cost imo ou are better to get a live axel rig unless you are willing to spend a lot of coin getting it good
it was sold a month or so ago, asking price was $10k

the MU will be fairly ecinomical (sp) to run, light car, good little oilburner.
would have to get back to you on price though, but I would expect an IFS lift kit for the IFS drop down brackets alon would eb $2500.00 range then add rear springs (reset) plus shocks and ubolts + would get greaseable shackles for sure.
better option imo price wise anyhow is bal joint flip and wind the torsion bars up, 2" springs in the rear and 2" body lift shod with 33s will be an pretty reasonable rig. by no means a rock crawler, but it will get you plenty of places

i tried to get a back copy to do the write up on mu, but the issue is too old......dammit.
I know the fuel consumption is ok in the mu. but what sort of figure are we talking about?
I found the calmini kit was $1800 not including fitting. do many mu owners get this? or is just too much for what it is.
all i want to do is fit 33's and lift it a bit. im new to forum so i dont know much. i dont need a rock crawler, just a reasonable truck for camping and the like.
What are your recommendations with suspension and lift? costs?
cheers
