Will it fit?

Post by whiteknight »

Was getting all the connections required for the fitting of the surf CT20 turbo to the 2.8D and was told a few things that kinda throw a spanner inthe works...

*that it wont bolt up with the factory AirCon unit - they said I have to get an aircon from a surf as it sites further forward. (first I have heard of this anyone know if this is accurate?)

* to fit a Sump from a surf as it is larger thsu holds more oil but i am wondering if this will foul my HighSteer tierod when I end up doing the HiSteer conversion?

* to use the side plates from a surf block (where the oil filter bolts up) as they allow more oil and keep it cooler? - kida lost me here

* to get the copper waterlines that run beside the head from a surf as they already have the T-pieces in them for water feed and return (never seen this can anyone confirm?)

All this jsut when I thought I had it all sussed and was about to start :(

Possible as my stock rubber intake pipe to turbo is moulded slightly to fit past the A/c compressor.

No Idea, welcome to have a look if it helps..

My pipe that runs from the filter box to the intake on the turbo is a cast alloy thing that just barely squeezes behind the a/c unit. (DTS kit though)
I haven't changed my sump, or side plates (whatever they are) and I don't think Guts had either(I bought the turbo kit from him) and for the water feed I have a T piece over near the top radiator hose and another T in the rubber hose on the heater line.
Will get some pics of these today sometime for ya...

1st is water return from turbo back to heater pipe
2nd water feed to turbo from start of heater line, no reason this couldn't be from where the return is but this is how it was so I left it alone
3rd oil drain piggy backed off the drain from the vacuum pump
