definatly wouldnt be worth it at all...
best option would be to sell and buy a deisel.
to do the conversion your talking about, u need all new fuel, wiring, gearbox bellhousing and out put shaft, move gearbox back and new box and engine mounts, shorter rear shaft and longer front shaft...
etc etc....
go a V8 if you want a motor replacement

ahh, alright then.. dont worry about it then. the L28 that is in it, needs new timing gear, which were going to change this week.
so what do i need to run dual snorkels on the L28? and what else would need waterproofing, and how do i do that? (not planning to drown the car, but it could happen and probably will.)
so yeh, how and what do i need? (think ghetto and cheap)
and also while i have your attention, to convert the L28 to run rual fuel, what do i need? id there any gass systems that i can get off a car at the wreckers and put on it?

Any Skyline L28/260C system should suit as far as flow goes. Probably could use anything off a 173/186/192/202 Holden as well.
While uoi might think a Falcon 250 might be too much.... when I got LPG installed on my 6 cyl datto they estimated flow rate at 7000rpm would be about the same as a 253... luckily most L series dont get pushed that hard.

well.........
Dual snorkel's on a L28??? what for??? they don't have that much power
or any really
i've had one for 4 years 90mm pvc pipe works well
or i know some-one that does nice stainless ones
Power, well start with a electronic dizzy & seal it with silastic, then seal the hole in the bottom of it too
you need to remove it form the car to do this, tap the hole & install a bold with some threadlok on it
Waterproofing, get rid of the engine fan & go thermo's, because
the dissy is at the front of the motor & as soon as the fan hits water it'll cover the dizzy in water & therefore cough & splutter etc......
buy a good set of leads such as topgun or some other reputiable brand
i think in my members thread there is a pic of the motor with the snorkel connection, if not p.m me & i'll send you one or add one
http://www.outerlimits4x4.com/PHP_Modul ... highlight=
Apart from that, gas is probably a must as the carby's are shithouse for angles, and they chew fuel when running big tyres
Otherwise sell it & buy another one, V8's are nice
Goodluckwith it

thanks, but not at the moment...
but what i do need to know is
what is the ring gap clearance?
what is the standard crank journal for the bottom end, and mains?
and are oversize avalible...
the reason im asking all this is because i bought an MQ, and when we started it it had a knock... so we said hmm... and bought it anyway, (fairly cheap) tilt trayd home, and we got a mate who was a marine engineer up to listen... this was 2 weeks ago.. we started pulling things off, and found out that all the insides are basically brand new (reco), and the only time it has been run is when we started it... so were rebuilding it in the car... lastnight we pulled all the timing gear and found that one o the tensioners wassnt eaven on... and 2night we found a broken ring in clynder 6. so yeh, thats where im at...
