Post by benhl »

As stated - i urgently need pics of Standard Surf triangulated 3 link rear set up.

I'm looking at getting a fully std set up to mondify and graft onto my lux. Problem is i need to do it this weekend - plans changed and now i'm rushed. The doner car is about 2 hrs away and i need to see if what im getting offered is what i actually need!! Before the drive!

All help appreciated

Hmmmm................. OK then.............This is becoming as clear as Mud!

Pictures of the 5 links then pls. Did any of them at all come with them? On the IFS wide axle rears?

I think this is just becoming all too hard and i'll stick with the :bad-words: 'n leaves!

No, none came with a factory 3 link. They are the same as Patrols and 80 series landcruisers. I don't think it would be worth while cutting the standard system off and transplanting to the lux unless you're going to mod it. The factory arms are too short, so whilst the bushes flex quite well, the arms limit the amount of flex you can achieve. If you're going to get it for very cheap it could be good to get the setup, cut it up and extend the arms out, and mount it to custom mounts.

The only pic I have of the rear of my Surf with factory setup (apart from shocks and springs and panhard rod)

Mine flex pretty well, but the limiting point are the arms and the upper arms as one hits the fuel tank now(need to get an exstention plate made.)
Cheers

don't think that's a true 3 link (radius arm) style link setup.

3 link has just that: 3 links attaching to the frame at 3 points: the panhard rod, and the front two lower links. Think Jeep TJ style front end from a rubicon express kit. . That's a 3 link, just like the rear end of my 4 runner is now..
