91 Patrol DX

Post by VaughanS »

Hi There

I currently hae a Pajero, but am looking at getting a 1991 Patrol SWB DX, can anyone give me some information, or things to look out for when looking at this car.

One question though, a DX is the base model for the GQ series right?

Thanks
Vaughan

Right, had a look at the car. Great condition inside, engine bay is clean and rust is minimal, there is some rust forming on the roof and by some of the windows.

It had 358 000km on the clock yet still runs good, never had any issues, and has been lady driven since 1989 (Think i mentioned wrong year earlier) Only offroad done is taking dogs to the beach.

Is there anything I should be careful about with this car? Any issues and so forth.

Any help/comments will be appreciated

If its auto trans then check it has been rebuilt at some stage they dont really like heat esecially in the emirates. That is considerable kms mine only made it to 220 000 before gearbox needed overhaul and it led an easy life. Also power steering can be noisy as the steering boxes werent the greatest creation.
Other than that GQ's are very robust and capable and really only require the care that any other car would given the kms.
