Mounting Gauges

Post by whiteknight »

Am fitting my Turbo shortly and want to get a few 2" gauges - Oil Temp, Oil Pressure, Water Temp and a 2 5/8" Pyrometer

I haven't found a suitable place in my Hilux to fit them yet - anyone made up some custom pod or found a place to fit em that looks sweet?
Pics would be appreciated

You know how hard they are to fit there?

Is it just as simple as using a hole drill bit and drilling ya holes? is there nothing behind the dash?

heya man.
theres a whole lot of things to consider when mounting gauges. you want to mount them where you can see them clearly without strechting ur head to far, somewhere where wiring them up will be easy.

My suggestion, how about on the driver side pillar, thats where i have mine on my lux

hope this help

cheers

I put mine on the dash...was thinking of the A pillar...but decided to go for the dash because there will be more gauges coming...when the budget allows!

no i dont have pics but hopefully soon

I just screwed them to the pillar bit of a tight/small fit though because the pillar is so thin

Dont get big fat 5" gauges like the young idiots do.
