Getting new engine for the orange ZOOK

Post by BIG ZOOK »

for anyone interested in the orange Zook i have bought it off Matt Pisani after tuff Truck. I am doing a few little things to it like having a vitara 1600 turbo motor custom built. capable of 200 kwts at rear wheels but will have it running 100 kwts at rear wheels with triple the toque. Running forged pistons, 200 sx turbo, microtec computer, twin cam multi valve head with a cam set up for low RPM boost kick in ect.

plan is that the zook can now get out of low low gear and actually get up a hill climb and out of a bog hole. this should bring the points up in willowglen and nissan trials this year.

Costing me about $5k then fitting on top..

can't say sorry part of the deal. but it will continue to be sponsored by M&M and ABT 4x4 plus i have a finance company that has come on board. as well as the motor i have to do hi mount winch, cromolly CV's and forged axels from Dobbin. With that it should handle the power and of course a dirty big turbo note will make it sound less of a joke. (hopefully)

came third by 3 points so pretty much a tie for 2nd. it broke a CV and had 3 wheel drive for the frame twister, didn't have enough power to get up the rocky horror hill climb and not enough power to get out of the bog hole so i say more power and stronger CV's it iwll nail it.. however Peter was way ahead in first place so ??????

yes it is road registered but with smaller tyres and guards. like it will be at Willowglen.

Super trucks was good fun but nothing challenging at all. was just playtime and how about Pip's FJ40. that would be the nicest truck i have ever scene.

May have a change of plans on the motor. Pip with the FJ wants to put a Lexus v8 in it with GQ diffs front and rear. that will be 220 kwts standard with another 2 inches a side in the foot print. fucking can't wait

Rear is a 3 pack leaf with a 3 link as well. this will stay but be slightly modified to give it some more flex. Front is air shocks only. thats is like a motor bike front shock. spring, nitrogen and air all inside. really good but has no negative spring so like Pip has we are going to put a sway bar in the front so i can do doughnuts and hook it ect at speed then releas it for crawling and maximum flex

no head room at all. helmet was getting smashed at super trucks. i can drop the seat by about 30mil only so poor posture will have to stay...

Also putting 4x light force 240 blitz on top of cage and some skid pans underneath so it doesn’t catch on shit when I am trying to get up steps like the bog hole at tuff truck

Those tyres despite being too stiff made it as capable as it is

It walked the mini wiriba in the fastest time, wouldnt have driven the frame twister with a broken CV on 37s and how many actually made it to the last ledge in the mud run

More power and those tyres will be awesome, provided the driveline can hold it

I am doing a few little things to it like having a vitara 1600 turbo motor custom built. capable of 200 kwts at rear wheels but will have it running 100 kwts at rear wheels with triple the toque. Running forged pistons, 200 sx turbo, microtec computer, twin cam multi valve head with a cam set up for low RPM boost kick in ect.
With all that extra rubbish put into it, the series 3 t/c will be minced in seconds.

it has a trimatic box which is built for a v8 and all the insides of the transfer case has had an upgrade so it will handel the extra power. the rear diff, front cv's and axels will get upgraded though

are you sure you can 200kw out of a 1600 zook motor ?

sounds awefully tempremental to me.

why stick with zook gear?

why not just fit a SR20 turbo motor ?

im not bagging your shit, matty built an awesome machine

but if you want to make those 46s sing, you want some healthy torque

you could even squeeze a rover alloy 8 in there which would have heaps more potential

didnt sam put a rover 8 in his vit ?

but maybe im wrong, maybe the 1600 has potential ?
