controlling dislocatable coil springs

i am considering setting up the rear springs on the jimny to be dislocatable but dont want the springs to be uncontrolled once they leave the pearch

does anyone have any ideas as to how i could achieve this.

im thinking that ill need a second spring of some description but an unsure of how and where to attatch it.

any input is much appreciated.

I have seen a cone setup on the perch to guide the spring into place.
It depends how far you thinking of having them drop out.

The other thing to note is it probably wont be any real benifite other than for a better RTI score. The reason for this is that there will be no weight on the tyre on the ground except for the weight of the diff and tyre/wheel so there is no real traction gain...
...but lotsa flex looks cool

with the left rear springs fully compressed on a rock an equal sized rock under the front right. the fronts are not compressed fully. where the rear will lift a wheel.

im only after around 2 inches of dislocation.

80 series and 79 series toyos have the cones for the springs.

i have seen a coil setup that was using coil hats that would drop with the spring but were controlled by a shock absorber, this setup would need a fair bit of space though, found this in a 4wd monthly. Hope this helps.

I just used fencing wire around the bottom coil on the Vitara.
