Morning All
Well, yesterday I had an absolutely ripping day at 'Cruiser Park, the only problem is that the consequences of my activities are a wheel alignment that is out (steering wheel is sitting about 120 deg. around than it was in the beginning of the day) and the power steering is leaking, ie. all fluid has leaked out.
It is leaking from the steering box at the first join after the column (flexible coupling) joins the steering gear (as named in Gregory's Manual). Overnight it has dropped, what appears to be, the full compliment of power steering fluid.
My questions are, how much will this cost to fix/replace, is it just a reco/exchange steering box, can I drive it as it is without damaging other bits (ie. do I have to take off the power steering belt), could this have this have happened at the same time as knocking out my wheel alignment.
All help greatfully appreciated, as I need to drive the car to work tomorrow.
Regards
Dave Mc.

Dude, don't drive the truck without disconnecting your power steering belt.
My pajero box was leaking and i di and it burnt out the pump.
Big dollars for a full repair kit for the box and 90 bucks for a second hand pump. It's still not that good anymore either.
Full overhaul kit was going to cost me like $250 to $300 just for the box. Find the problematic seal and try every avenue to get a replacement. Make sure they are high pressure seals. (don't know if GQ's had non power steering models but i initially got sold a non power steering seal and it blew out straight away).
Hope this helps,
Cheers

I've disconnected the belt, driving is NOT fun now.
After consulting my trusty Gregory's manual and having a close look at the box (I can see the exact spot that it is leaking from), I've come to the conclusion that it is one the O rings in the first section of the box.
I'll remove it myself, but I don't look forward to pulling it apart. If I can't find a shop that will install the bits without a full $$$$ rebuild, I'll give it a go.
Thanks for your help
