what size are the threads on vitara body studs.

does anyone know what size thread/tap the vitara body studs are? i have a swb 89 model, but i'm sure it will the same on most.

reason why, is i have approval a 3" BL, but i must use solid blocks, instead of box section rhs.

ps, can anyone help me out with some aluminium BL blocks? roughly 75mm tall, and about 75mm round or square, but i can go down to about 65mm round, drilled and tapped for vit.

Any aluminium place can do them for you.. but most have a minimum cut length of 40mm.

For 3" no problems .

As far as the thread sizes go, the two front ones under the headlight are bigger but you put a bolt through those.

I can't remember the exact sizes but the main body ones are easy to check. It's PROBABLY (check it) 10x1.25.

You might find they wont accept tapped alloy (I'd prefer not to use alloy threads to hold my car together) and you may need to get a tapped steel sleeve made to fit inside the alloy. Or use steel blocks (lots of work tapping but)

The studs are only threaded for about 1" of their total 2" length. Most people cut them short so they can run a die over them and still have room for a bolt into the bodylift block from underneath.

the body studs on a vitara are m10 x 1.25, and i do believe they are the same as sierras.

cutting the studs shorter is dicey Im in the process of removeing a body lift and the fact the studs are shorter mean Ive had to cut the rubbers in half.
The correct way I believe is to tap a high grade bolt and run it up the inside of you body block and just screw it strait onto the stud the only thing you have to modify is your rubbers, (they can be easily replaced)

O think when people do that with the studs they realise there's no way the vehicle will be going back to it's original form.... the next place it's going to is a hardcore 4wd enthusiast or a tip...
