Navarra torsion bars

Post by jb6.5 »

Hi all,
Just found out about this site , looks good.
I've just put ARB torsion bars in my Navarra and had the rear springs redone . This gave it a 65 mm lift. Yesterday I took it for a test run and after 60 ks on the gravel I hit a dip/bump and the RH suspension collapsed and it was riding on the bump stop rubbers. After checking it out on the side of the road and pulling the torsion bar out I found that the adjustment mount had sheared the splines . I still had another 150 ks of dirt to go to visit my son and then it would be 400 ks to get home . So I turned around and travelled back to the bitumen at 20 to 40 KPH. It wan't too bad on the tar .
I stripped it down today and will try and source a part but my question is has anyone had or heard of this problem before . I'm off to the Kimberlys this Friday morning for 2 weeks and don't want this to happen again.
:x

Regards
john
