I,ve been looking at a D2 for my daily driver and tourer. just wondering if it's possible to get 33inch Jungle trekkers on without cutting the gaurds

Yes, no problems. You just need a 2" spring lift and then adjust the steering bump stops. I was not even getting any rubbing during articulation.
But you will need a locker on the rear and preferably one on the fron as well. The grip given by the JT2's will destroy the diff otherwise. We have had 2 people blow the rear diff on first trips out with the JT2's who did not have a locker. It is the pin in the spider gears which cannot cope with the stress.

LOL. You would not like it now then.
It is all back to stock standard....almost. After a lot of heartache, arguing and expense regarding warranty I have had to remove the lift and tyres and lockers so that I will still be covered.
Good news is I now have a '77 Rangie with 35's, twin lockers and everything else.

That is a shame, to dismanntle (well take back to stock anyway) a piece of art like that must of been hard. I recently had to change insurance co. as they finaly threw in the towel when I told them I was fitting lockers and new diff gears . Still, found a new policy and now have agreed value for all the goodies bolted to it and works out about the same as I was paying before:D .walker wrote:It is all back to stock standard....
Often thought of going the old rangie route myself and kitting it out for some serious play but I can't tear myself away from my disco just now. Maybe in a few years.

I have not had a problem with insurance, in fact RACV have been great, It's just LRA that sux. After owning 3 Disco's from new I have promised never to buy another Land Rover. I think there has been a definate change in LRA in the past year and if you do anything to the car (even front bar) then they don't want to know you. It has just cost me $4500 after a front propshaft failed at only 17,000km and cracked the Gearbox. LRA would not cover it because I had a lift. Now even though they pretty much acknowledged that the lift did not cause the failure and that I was actually only 4mm over their max. specification they still would not budge or even come halfway.
