For a globe? Are you insane?

I just paid $28 for a 24v H3 IPF globe, 130W.

Hi beefa125, why not try the Philips Crystal Vision.

I had always used Hella 181s driving lights and had problems with the reflectors getting burnt when using 130w globes so decided to try the IPFs when I bought my RR. I had the standard 130w globes in my IPFs and as far as I was concerned, the IPF were not much better than the Hellas.

A short period I fitted the IPFs, I blew one of the globes and went to replace it at one of my customers outlets.

While there they suggested that I try the then new Philips Crystal Vision 55w globes. At the time they were as dear as sin but I thought I would give them a try.

I average around 1,500km a month of night driving, much of it out west, through roo country so I need good bright lights. All I can say is that these lights are so good and improved the IPFs so much that when I installed an additional 4 Hella driving lights on a quick detachable roof bar, I gave the 100w globes that come with the hellas, to a mate and installed the Philips Crystal Vision.

I have been using them for nearly 3 years now and I also have them in the headlights and the high beam and of the 10 globes installed, not one has blown in that 3 years and have not marked any of the reflectors.

They are rated as having a power consumption of 55 watts but give out the equivalent of 110 watts of light and it is ULTRA WHITE light and worth every cent.

If you shop around, you can get them for about $40 a pair.

Cheers.
