Pics of my front end upgrade (body work) :)

Post by 80-RPM »

I bought the 2000 model triton from my families business one owner + full service history was hard to knck back

And I have finally started to get the transformation under way!
(my other car is having drama's trying to get it to run at full boost on the microtech) so this is the one all the 'other' time gets spent on!

I went in to mitsubishi to find out how much the 04 GLS headlights were (240 trade!) i nearly fell over!
I searched the net and found a place selling all the 'all crash' and a few other names parts and ended up getting the front headlights for 75 each and clear side indicators from a lancer for 29!
next was the rear lights! 95 bucks for altezza ones of ebay!
and a new rear tub for 110 on ebay(as the current one has to many dings!
and rear flares from a guy out at ipswich for 50 bucks (the OEM ones)

next was the fitting of the lights which i put of for some time as it was going to be a hard job!

Durring this time I also bought an 04 GLS bar with the bumperettes so the bar would match when i got the front flares.

Long story short the 04 bar didn't last long as i put the bull bar back on minus the top bit and + a few holes!! for spot lights
Didn't really like the bull bar and seeing as its not a dedicated ofroad only vehicle i didn't really want the full bars (but still want to be able to shunt stuff!!)

the rear tub has had the rear pan all welded up except for the rear rubber tailgate stops and should be painted in the next few weeks hopefully

here is a few pics of the lights installed and the bar cut down

hopefully in the beginning of next year the truck gets raised and more rubber under the guards! and a billet grille!

Its a TJM comercial bar

as silly as it seams i couldn't sell it or give it away!
it does have the winch holes etc but after taking it off and seeing how it was made i would never put a winch on it! was actually quite disturbing!
and i still have the top section so i can weld it back on if i wanted
