I know there has been discussions on these before, has anyone been able to source boots the same as or equivalent to the originals from an after market supplier?

Try Driveline Services in Brisbane 07 3275 7600 for aftermrket cv joints and boots. I hear they are pretty good.

They supply all types of rubber replacement parts from Austin to Woolsley, Last Century to now

just checked the web site.
Nothing listed for 86-96 Pajero, Triton or L300
I will give him a call he might have something off another make which will fit
I also want to ask him about lower profile bumpstops
