I have an ARB battery tray which I am about to fit into my TD5 Disco and have heard that there may be some heat issues if I fit it in the passenger side corner next to the firewall - pretty much the only place there is a space unless I move stuff around.
Wondering what people have done to protect the battery from heat and if anyone has any pics of their set up.
Aye, mick

Heat shield for 2nd battery

Thanks RedbackRedback wrote:This is mine, i haven't had any heat issues as yet, but i think you should look at Slunnies setup it is a good setup you'll have to move the jack and ECU, as it's 2 batteries side by side.
Seqfisho from AULRO suggested I PM you for info, but, no need now. Pics are exactly what I need. Have seen Slunnie's set up before and really like it but I'm not too keen on moving stuff around too much, plus already have the tray etc . I reckon similar to your set up will do me for the time being. What battery did you go for?
Cheers for your help, Mick
At the moment i'm using an Exide ST620 75AH Marine Deep cycle it was only $56 hard to say no to, when it dies i'll probably go for the Delcor as with the starting battery when it dies too, it's 5 yrs old so won't be long.
One thing you have to be carefull of is the roll over switch try to keep it where it is, it can go off if not mounted properly.
Baz.

Cheers Baz, appreciate the input. 5 years is damned good I would say for a battery, but then I haven't had too much experience with them.Redback wrote:At the moment i'm using an Exide ST620 75AH Marine Deep cycle it was only $56 hard to say no to, when it dies i'll probably go for the Delcor as with the starting battery when it dies too, it's 5 yrs old so won't be long.
