Hey,
Just noticed this on my cuz 89model maverick shorty (GQ SWB).
I pulled out the centres to get the locker and gears fitted and when removing the front driveshaft i noticed it had 2mm of clearance to the gearbox crossmember.
It has 4" spring lift (dobinsons) and drop brackets (for radius arms) that space the crossmember down about 6mm.
I find it hard to beleive that with all the lifted nissans about I came up with a fairly dry search result . (shut up Bogged , i suck at the internet)
I tried the Bible but theres nuthing in there either.
So if anyone has any recomendations, weather it be to cut and modify the crossmember or just fit packers etc etc it would be much appreciated.
Pics of how you went about it all (if you modified it) would be nice.
Might wanna add this bit of info to anyone looking to lift their GQ shortys as its limiting the driver side down travel a shitload.
Cheers
Anthony

Driveshaft on front crossmember
Normally as it gets close to the crossmember youve reached max droop anyway. Limitations of bush bind, sensible shock length etc.
IF you have rubbing an easy method for clearance is to cut a section out of the top of x member and weld in a section of 4" pipe in a "U" shape.
Also check your front shock bushes arn't shot.

Its got drop brackets (for front radius arms), adjustable upper rear control arms and a double cardon joint from a mq.mudmav wrote:hey mate i have a qg shorty have never noticed this i will have a look tonight and see if mine is as close do you have any driveshaft vibrations with the four inch lift and what mods did you do to stop driveline vibrations
Rear shock mount have been modified but are still causing a drama, need to be re done.
The vibrations have not been a problem as there is nun
when i did mine i used 50x50 angle and it was enough for my 7" coils. although angle will give higher stress concentration than pipe, mine held up ok
i have pissed all that off not and have a centre bearing due to the dual transfers
cheers bru
