Buggies at Powercruise QLD Raceway October 14-16

Post by 80lsy gq »

Hi guys, just thought i would put this up to generate some support..

At this stage we are currently working out a way that we can design and build some sort of man made course for the buggies to drive at our event (Powercruise) at Queensland Raceway in october. With any luck ( if they're not all broken after round three) there will be at least ten buggies there strutting their stuff on a man made course over the three days putting on demos . Hell tony has already started to look for some tyres to put on to go in the burnout comp as well:D

At this stage it will depend on time and cost factor as to what sort of course we will be able to construct. be it man made rock obstacles or spray on concrete onto pipes, hay bales etc.

I will post up with more details as we nut them out...

for info on the Powercruise event go to

http://qld.powercruise.net/

cheers Dave

I am also contacting my Major supporter MICKEY THOMPSON TYRES and will see if i can get a old set of half worn out 37" claws. I am sure they wouldn't want me destroying my current batch of tyres! :)

This should be awesome, it will really help with getting Rockcrawling out to spectators that would not even know what it is.

We are all keen as mustard for this one!

Yes, Sam is working with Dave from Power Cruise and are just trying to sort what is going to be the easiest and best way (and cheapest) to produce terrain suitable for buggies to put on a show.

They have been out there and sussed out the areas that will be used.

at this stage we have selected the area for the tracks to be built on and we have also found some concrete pipes to make part of the course out of. we are however going to require a couple of extra things. A shipping container and also someone with a bobcat and truck or similar to move soil to hold it all together.

if anyone on the board can help wth either pm me or sam(strangerover) and we will see what we can work out.

cheers dave

Rod just has to put the axles back in the buggie.......hopefully they will hold out longer than just getting through the start gate   :P

Starting to think that thing is cursed, should get Tom to tow it up and lose it half way....then Rod can build a new one  ;)

anyone who would be able to lend a hand at Powercruise, not necessarily anything to do with the buggies, more helping out with running of events at Powercruise please pm me. If you can help over the weekend we will give free entry for the weekend, feed you, give you all a pretty staff shirt to wear over the weekend and at the end of the weekend you will get a Powercruise event shirt to keep.

Jobs will be things like flag points around the track, marshalling area, traffic control and a few others. Basically i also do my best to get everyone a ride in a tough car over the weekend as well.

Also for the people who are keen i can organise with Sam to get you a ride in the buggies as well

PM me or give me a ring on 0416288290 if you can help...

cheers Dave

Here is a link to the website to show you what the shirts you will get to keep look like
