Daihatsu and spare parts

Post by murcod »

How do you guys find Daihatsu and their spare parts availability? Here in Adelaide nothing seems to be kept in stock, even the basics, and it has to be ordered in from interstate.... :bad-words:

Latest effort- distributor cap $67 and a couple of days wait. Or pay extra for air freight!

Depends on the part...it can be a real matter of hunting around. Like the idler arm for example. You can't just buy the bush from Toyota, you have the buy an entire new arm! There is a good wrecker here in QLD that I'll be using a lot, it's where I got my replacement bumper from.

If you require genuine, it's gunna cost, that's been my exp. I try and find an alternate source...

I think ALL spare bits are difficult to find for the Feroza from the Dealers. When I destroyed a front fender I had to wait 8 weeks for a replacement from Japan.....no wreckers had one.....real PITA !

Even in Melbourne it still takes about 2-3 weeks to get difficult bits :bad-words:

Well after rubbishing them about not having the distributor cap in stock I just got a call saying it's in (less than 24hrs). :) Apparently they had a big airfreight order for a crash so tacked mine on as well.

You can also try 4x4 Parts Australia at Strathpine in Brisbane. They have a pretty good stock of Daihatsu parts as well as other makes.

Strange you should mention them- I sent them an Email last night!

Hopefully they will actually respond, unlike another wrecker in NSW....

I'd phone them. I don't think wreckers realise they have email addresses....

They do. Unfortunately they haven't got what I'm after though.... :bad-words:

I know what you mean about a lot of companies, they put up a web site and then don't ever bother checking their Email.
