Rolled my Fezz

Post by Sneezing7 »

Unfortunately I managed to roll my beloved Feroza over the weekend. Luckily neither I or my passenger were hurt (I received a cut up arm from the drivers window breaking, and my passenger a sprained wrist from when we were hanging upside down and he released his seatbelt).

Luckily again the damage is not too bad on the car. The most damaged part is the roof (the bar above the windscreen) - which is a little pressed in. Apart from that the rest of the damage is minimal.

Basically I am looking for the following parts from a breaker in Europe (more than Likely UK). The Daihatsu scene in Cyprus is near non existant.

1) Front bumper with end caps
2) Drivers door mirror (non electric)
3) Drivers side rear tail lamp assembly (or even just the lense will be fine)
4) Bonnet (white preferably)
5) Drivers side front guard (white preferably)
6) Engine fan shroud

If anyone can point me in the right direction with either a website or phone numbers, I would greatly appreciate it.

Also, My steering wheel is no longer in its usual position. I am guessing that a wheel alignment is in order? Or is it because all my power steering fluid leaked out when it was on it's roof?

Thanks in advance!

Yikes! nasty roll, glad your not hurt.

Best bet for parts from the UK is to register yourself on the Autotrader website. (www.autotrader.co.uk)
Take a look in the parts section where you need to enter details of what you need. Next several affiliated breakers will receive your request through the 'parts gateway'. After that it's a case of waiting for breakers to get back to you with what they've got. Then you need to find one willing to ship to you.
Good luck, hope this helps.

It's actually quite frightning to see how easy it is to roll a 4WD under the right circumstances, i witnessed a bloke roll a stock Hilux at 40km/h on a flat dirt road, hit a small ditch and it just went over. To add to this i was watching it in my rear view mirror as i had just driven the exact same spot in an exact identically setup vehicle (they were our work vehicles) and didn't have any issues.

Agreed...that part of the track WAS flat, and SHOULD of been a piece of piss....

But basically this is what happened:

Trying to mix my Rx7 heritage with my new found love of 4wding, Me and my mate were doing some 4wd drifting. Anyhow, the corner just before the car flipped had a puddle in it (the first, and subsequently last of the day). For some reason, I just assumed that the puddle would be shallow, and that my speed of 60kmph would not be an issue. WRONG. The bloody thing ended up being a good 40cm deep. My front left went in, got stuck, then throwing us onto the drivers side, then onto the roof.

Hanging there upside down, we both just started laughing for some reason. At this point in time none of us were hurt. Not thinking, we both undid our seatbelts, with me landing on the broken glass (from my drivers window), and him fracturing his once broken arm - by landing on it strangely)

So basically the crash was due to stupidity (mostly), and "assuming".

A lesson was learnt, but fun was had!
