Endless air on TD42

and yes i have searched and I havent found the information i needed, just wondering who has a TD42 with endless air on it? i am looking into doing it soon on my truck so i can run impact tools off my car.

i have a sanden 508 i use for an air compressor on my TD42 in an endless air type setup what would you like to know

Sanden 508 can be fitted between the Alternator and original air con pump. Mounts on a bracket that picks up the Alternator mounting brackets. Pump is then driven off the 2nd groove on ALT pulley. Tight fit, but easier if body lift fitted. 40 litre truck air tank can be mounted to chassis (LWB) on drivers side opposite muffler. Use Bendix (international truck ) brake tank and either aircon hose or braided teflon to connect to pump. *****Make sure you instal Safety Valve in tank******

I had a set of brackets I borrowed off Woop, and got Awill to copy - his words were something like NEVER AGAIN and that was with a set to copy..
... gettin tolerances right can be a untca, since if its out by a bit, belts will squeal like a bitch...

I am having a few brackets laser cut in the next couple of weeks, will have about 3 sets avaialable. To buy will cost over $300 but will sell for $130 a set.

I would really like to put one of these endless air type setups on my GU. It is a 3.0TD... (dont mean to hijack thread here)

Yes, i have searched, read bibles and endless air sites.

What I want to know is, am i able to buy a bracket from somewhere that will fit nicely. Im worried about belt slippage if i try to make one/get one made up.

Also, ive been reading up about all this oil/grease nipple etc thing. If i buy a sanden exactly what do i do about an oil feed. Ive read all the bibles and gotten a whole heap of variating methods. I want to know which one is best. Endless air use a grease nipple? is this sufficent to stop the unit ceasing/overheating/shitting itself within a useless period of time. If i go this method, will a grease seperator prevent getting grease in fittings/hoses/tanks?

Do i NEED a tank? Im getting some sliders made up and im thinking about putting fittings into them for air tanks, will these be sufficient? I'd imagine i will only be using this thing seldomly, (pnuematic tool(s) for changing tyre, pumping up tyres etc).

Is one pump better / easier than the other? (sanden/york)

Say i have no parts yet, approx how much am i looking at to fit this thing? (buying all seperate parts/valves/pressure switch etc) as opposed to $300 and something for the endless air?

I just wanted to clear this up as i am very confused by all the different posts in different threads in the bible...

never heard of one on the 3.0 since it runs a single fanbelt for everything, no spare pulleys.

couldnt you get a longer belt to drive the extra A/C pump, or maybe even run an extra pully on the front of the altertator or something.........

yeah, theres no way of fitting an extra pulley? Then just an extra belt? If its too hard to make a bracket to suit a belt length, can you get custom sized belts? or dont they exist...

I'm pretty sure you can buy longer serpentine belts. You may have to go to a belt specialist though as opposed to a general automotive parts store. I enquired about one for a commodore motor once. You can buy them a/c or no a/c over the counter.

Somewhere like www.totalrubber.com.au or goodyear, gates might be able to help. You would probably have to find the most appropriate length belt and design your bracket around that.

The trickiest thing will be trying to get sufficient angle of wrap on your endless air pulley without causing problems elsewhere. You would most likely have to get another idler pulley in there somewhere, but then again i'm not that familiar with the layout of those motors.
