buying a TD42 need help please

Post by Shy Industries »

Hi there i dont usually visit around here often to busy fixing my POS Discovery. On the bright side though i'm looking at buying a 1996 TD42 wagon, and was wondering about what sort of things i should be looking for?.
Thanks for any help.

Gday, not many drive line problems with the TD42 just check things like service records. Are you after a standard or modified patrol and an ST or DX. Probably look at overall condition on how it has been treated. With STs sometimes the elec windows play up but very easy to fix and the rear doors on all models tend to creak when driven hard or lager spare on the back. The power steering box can leak and front diffs but mainly all these can occure on higher milliege cars.
Probably get the car checked out just to be sure, much better choice than the oil leaken Disco :)
