22R pissing out smoke

Post by big bundy »

my 22r has recently started to have a bit of a smoke problem, it has always blown smoke, but now when reved above 3500 it will really start pissing out smoke, with the odd occasian it will happen when below 3000 as far as i can tell it is black smoke, but i am not 100% sure.

has anybody had this problem?
valve steam seals?
broken ring?

the head is coming off next week to fix an oil leak so i will be able to suss this problem out a bit more then,

it happened this arvo sitting in 3rd coming down a hill at about 2500 revs, got towards the bottem of it and it pissed out. the carby did cop a good clean on friday, could it be carbon and crap on the muffler burning out? i have done 210 km's since cleaning it.

any ideas?
cheers greg
