Purolator Oil Filters

Post by NI$$AN »

Hey
Im about to service my TD42 for the first time. I'll be buying a 20ltr Drum of Penrite diesel and also a bulk lot of filters..

question about the filters used. Major auto retailers have recommended "Purolator filters" they are aparantly the same as ryco in the US.
are these any good?? they are cheaper than the leading brands but is there any major difference in quality...
should I just stick to your normal RYCO ?

thanks
Jon

Ive used both and I reckon th Puro ones hav a better flowback valve, the Ryco ones are useless.

I reckon Ive waited up to 5 seconds for the pressure to kick in at startup when using the Rycos.

.....but thats just me
What, haven't you ever done lines of International Roast off a hookers back with $100 notes?

I'd use Nissan Filters. Sometimes the TD42's spit the dummy (take ages to get pressure) if they are given aftermarket filters.

The Purolator filters are an excellent filter. They are hard to get though and are a bit more expensive than the more common now Chinese made RYCO Z9
