Hi All,
My GQ Shorty is on dual fuel. It was all good, all running well. Until i decided to have a Safari Snorkel installed on Friday. Now it is a disaster!!
The car constantly stalls when slowing, i.e. pulling up to stop at lights. I slow down through the gears, and as soon as i have low enough revs in 2nd, i depress the clutch to put the car into neutral, the revs drop right back and it stalls!!
I have faced the snorkel head backwards, which hasn't solved my problem!!
This is %@#$ing me off!!
I read the thread
http://www.outerlimits4x4.com/PHP_Modul ... norkel+lpg
People state it is a problem, but no real solutions.
What should I do??

lpg + new snorkel install = constant stalling!! HELP!
When adding an adapter to the Impco LPG setup on any motor, you get massive power restriction.......
Ezrail from this board had it on his LPG TB42 GQ and he lost large amounts of power.....
I have the same LPG setup on my V8 in my patrol, so i used the GQ snorkel housing same as in the thread above you mentioned......
as soon as i put it on and sealed it up, the car wouldnt idle, it would keep dying on me.....
basically because of the restiction i went from a round filter with lots of air to a 3 inch pipe and its not anywhere near enough air for the motor, so i had to up the idle on the car to make it happy to idle, it still however takes more throttle to start now everytime it starts..
My sugestion, is to basically, play with your idle...
Up the idle on the carbi, and lean of the LPG abit to keep the idle down, but at the same time having the butterflyes open for more air when idling..... this is my suggestion.
screwy

what about taking it back to where ever fitted it and informing them of the problem, and tell them to fix it.Harps wrote:What should I do??
