Cargo Barrier - 60style

Post by vanzbrown »

Any of you madsnakes running cargo barriers in ya 60's. Where you running them, behind front seats or rear seats?

The previous owner looks like he was running one, but must have taken out (layed down) rear seats, cuz where the rear grab bars (above doors) were are little milford brackets with covers on them. Oh, and just on this, above the rear quarter windows there are some other little brackets, which look like maybe it would hold the barrier up if it was swung back out of the way, any one know what these could be. Ill take pics tomorrow if need be.

Anyone made a barrier, i see the Milfords are around $400. Bit steep i would have thought.

Hey Leeroy there should be 2 mounts 1 in middle of back door & 1 above the rear slider put 1 in myself a little bit fiddley but alright should also be a plate beside the rear wheel arch. Paid about $350 i think.

Nah its so you can have it mounted in 2 positions either behind the back seat or behind the front seat & the bottom still mounts with the same mounts it just has a bracket to move forward.

Yeah, i went out and checked it all. They are the same mounts in the roof, just the rear ones had the lids folded down and some screw things in them.

Going to dig up the old owners number, see if he still has the old cargo barrier and wants to sell it to me cheap

Can you get a cargo barrier that only comes down the the top of the rear seat? I would like a cargo barrier behind the rear seats, but want the bottom part of it to be open so as I can lay down the seats and put my kayak in.

I'm sure I've recently ( a day or so ago) seen one for sale on eBay. It was for a Sahara tho. Around $50 buck I think it was.

Apparently the half size barrier is only available through Outback Accessories as it is an option when you buy their drawers. Might have a looksee at making my own.....

Dragging this old topic from a couple of months ago. I just ordered a half cargo barrier from 4wdSystems. It is the same as the full barrier excpet they bottom of it is open. It will take a few weeks as it is a custom job. I am getting it for $292 delivered (from SA to Tas) which I think is a red hot price.
