i loved the MT/Rs on my vitara. had 235's, then 31"s, then 33"s.
even way up here in darwin, a 31" would go for about 210ish, and a 32" is about 250ish. i got my 33"s for about 240ish each. so shop around beacuase you most probably will find a better deal.
i got about 75,000Ks out of the 235s. maybe look into a 31" MT/R rather than the 30". maybe another thing to look out for is what rims you are using. if you are using stock ones, then maybe the 30"s will be better. for a 235 (29") min rim width was 6". and so a 31" 'should' have a 7" or wider rim. my mate has my old 31"s on stock 5.5" rims. no problems.... yet. maybe aldo be a legality thing, like insurance etc etc.

I have 30x9.5 MTRs on my zook.
It is stock standard except for 1" longer shackles.
It clears them fine I just had to pound the inner guards with a BFH and chop the bumper mounts a bit.
You will wish for lower transfer gears though (I know I do).
As for MTRs they are great! as well as the ones on my zook I have 33s on my lux and I will be fitting 35s soon.
Good on road wet or dry. Good offroad on everything except for the really goopy mud where you need super aggressive tyres (swampers, pedes etc).
Paul.
*edit* forgot to add I got my 30" MTRs for $200 each

Yep, you cant go wrong with the mtr's! I put 30's on mine afew months ago and have no complaints what so ever, they have pulled me up hills and out mud where others have struggled. As said you need to cut the bumper mounts and extended shackles help. It may pay to do that before getting them fitted, i had an interesting drive home avoiding corners so it didnt rub!
Beaurepairs are the best price around, $180 a tyre. As polar_bear said $1200 for five and thats with speedy sunraysia's! you want speedy not roh otherwise they might rub on the front springs.
Polar_bear you know you want them, do it, do it now!

Ok, i have just put a set of 31 desert dualers on my daily driver 4x4 courier and they absolutly love the road, so they probalbly love ther rocks as well ! They dont have an open tread pattern so probably dont do the mud to well but for 31's i cant beleive how well they go.
They are 31x10.5x15.....should be a serious option for 31's, there cheap, bag awsome and grip well on high traction surfaces.

I checked My speedo with my gps and its out by 9km per hour.
So when i'm doing 60, i'm actually doing 69 .
I just make sure i'm doing 10km below what the speed limit is.
