Replaced fuel pump, car wont start

I've just replaced the rocker cover gasket and fuel pump, and now it cranks over but stops immediately.
I must have forgotten to do something with the fuel lines.
It's a 2.4 petrol hilux, carby model.

Anyone got any tips?

undo the fuel line at the carb crank the motor and make sure the new pump is doing its job would be the best starting point.

how come you changed it anyway?

Is there fuel pumping while its cranking? The fuel filter clean?

Shakes, I changed it coz it was leaking, and had been for a while.

crack the line and make sure it is wired properly might not be pumping fuel the right way

Is it electric pump?
could just need priming/bleeding to get it started.

or is it manual?
If manual, it is possible, on some engines, to get the lever/cam pump bit, that works off the camshaft, on the wrong side of camshaft .. rare but can happen. (I know this cos I did it once)

Thanks guys, it's sorted, well sort of.

The at the auto parts place gave me the wrong pump!

The lever that runs it off the cam shaft is too long. I've put the old pump back on for now until I go back down to the shop and tell them where to stick their bloody fuel pump!

, was it repco? I've had em give me the wrong gasket and another time and oil filter missing a seal guvs ya the shlitz when u have ta put car back together to drive back there and yell @ them , and then go back and pull apart again
