There are 2 different boxes.
The Patrol one fitted to the 4.2/4.5/4.8 petrols & 3.0 & 4.2 diesels.
The other is the 300ZX box fitted to the 3.0 GQ petrols and GQ/GU 2.8 diesel turbos

Patrol boxes
Ratios are different for different motors
GQ box will probably have a PTO access plate on the side but GU one almost certainly wont.
GU boxes from 1999-2001 have a dodgy 5th gear spline.
Pre 1992 GQ boxes have less synchros

300ZX boxes
Dont know much and dont much care :lol:
(but I do know they are lighter and smoother but not as strong)
