have got a 2.5l turbo diesel intercooled(if u can call it that) ford courier dual cab,,,want to open the zorst up a little,,,but am tied between 2" and 3"......will be a straight through muffler no matter what,,,so what size?????
i wonder if all people are actually as good in the real world as they think they are here in cyberland......one of lifes mysteries i spose....

With turbo, you can't really go too big... the more free flowing you make it, the more power you will gain, but also noise will increase with size.

Just suss out local exhaust shops and ask any mates if they have done the same thing.. exhaust is all trial and error.. I'd suggest 2.5".... 2" is a bit small and 3" may be a touch big and noisy, depending on what mufflers/resonators you plan to run.. if any :lol:
I always recommend to run a quality muffler like Lukey etc. to obtain a nice sounding note out of it and have none of that rattly/tinny noise.

For yours I would say 2.5" would be ideal.

If there was a way to increase your power by roughly 25%, then a 3" would work...but noise does become a factor.

I have a 3" on my 2.5l Fender TD5. But it has been chipped to give heaps more kw.

And it is L-O-U-D :armsup:

as the fellers said 2.5" will be just about perfect for ya...

I believe the early discovery's with a 2.4 TDI come with a 2.5" pipe on em..

thanks for the replies guys....think 2.5 will be the go,,spoke to 2 different shops so far,,,got 2.5" and 3"...going to wollongong this weekend,,,,anyone know of a good(cheap) shop to get it done at???

No mufflers, dude...just straight pipe, mandrel bent, all the way thru :twisted:
