Really need help!
Guys, I need some urgent help!
I got a 92' hilux. I was trying to remove the rear drums, so I turned the cog on the inside to let them off, and I adjusted them tight. Now I can't seem to unadjust them!?
How do I unadjust them?
Really need help since I need the car for work tomorrow!
Thanks guys
Riley.

It's not the speed that kills you... it's the sudden stop.
if i remember doin mine... (60 series drum brake rear - think they're the same)
there is a tiny hole at the end of it which you put a screwdriver in it..
to turn the cog..
Now... BEHIND THE COG is a lever which stops the cog from loosening..
so you need to push ONE screwdriver to push the lever away from the cog..
then use the SECOND screwdriver to rotate the cog whichever way to loosen the cog (im guessin anticlockwise)
Hope that helped.

are you kidding me? a wheel cylinder costs like 1/100th what a drum costs!!
you need to somehow lift the latch that stops the ratchet from winding the brakes off (although usually with a bit of patience you can just force the toothed wheel back against the latch)]
If all else fails just beat/prise the drum off, at worst you'll damage the pins or springs that hold the shoes in place.
The hardest thing about owning a jeep is telling your parents you're g a y!!
Take the purge thingy off and let the lines release the presure, then beat the drum with a hammer, the cylinder should depress with no brake fluid in it and you will be able to remove the drum.
Then you will have to bleed the brakes and readjust.
