The lockright i have in the rear is making a series of 3 or 4 really phuckin loud bangs as i corner....something tells me this aint normal? any idea?????

Lockright Guru's would be better at explaining this than me.....I've only heard the problem in a mates Zook !!.
When you pull your diff out, I believe there are some shims (thin washers) that attach to the side gears. Over time and usage they wear down and require replacing to the specified gap.

I used to have an LA locker which I believe was a waay old version of a lock right. The problem i had was the locating pins would wear causing the big bang noises until eventually i had a spool. Didn't do any damage to the gears or diff lock as the pins were the weak link

All diffs need this at some stage in their life - lockrighted or not, welded or not. Diffs where power or traction comes on with a bang - like lockrighted diffs or my old Datto 240Z coming around a corner sideways at 7000rpm need it more often.
My understanding after about 4 diffs or rebuilds in my 240Z was it is normally slack in the thrust washers that causes it (whether due to wear and tear or being squashed by the sudden power application. They're like stacked washers to shim the crown and pinion wheel thing into alignment.
In a Lockright and other mechanical auto lockers have some extra parts - pins and springs etc. The lockright is deliberately designed so the pins wear out first and they're cheaper and easier to replace.
If the lockright wasn't designed to break there then it'd just break somewhere else eventually.
Live with it, or put in much heavier power sapping diffs, which will kill your mototr instead of the diff - your choice.
