Steerings gone funny

Post by AndrewPatrol »

Out bashing da bush today. whacked into a tree root at about 20k's with left front wheel, bought car to a stop so hard it ripped steering wheel outa my hands. On the way home steering wheel is upside down and steering feels really light, car goes straight though. Just wondering what to check for, looked underneath, nothing seems obviously bent but was wondering about steering shaft and/or power steering box business - why has wheel gone about 150 degrees to normal?
Could force of impact bend radius arm mount and cause these symptoms?

Thanks for all sensible answers

take it to a reputable wheel alignment specialist, they should be able to pinpoint whats wrong.

Andrew, I don't think you would have bent anything. Just a get a wheel alignment. You can get an adjustable steering link and drag link from Mal Leslie.
