NEW TURBO DIESEL ENGINE FOR PRADO

I am considering upgrading to a GXL Prado TD but am concerned that Toyota will replace the current TD engine with the new engines as found in the new Hilux. Of course, the sales people haven't heard of this ! Can anyone tell me if they have heard when Toyota are expecting to replace the current 96kw TD with the new one. :?:

In my country, the Toyota LC 120 as it is called here, has the new 3,0 DID engine. 170hp and 410 nm if I remember correct. Shame you can`t get the new engine.

Is fuel quality the reason you are stuck with the old one?

Cheers - I had a yarn with a local Toyota rep and he tells me Toyota said the new motor is coming out within a year.

Great lookin car though !
