33"s Rubbing on Mud flap?

Post by Captain Patrol »

Just fitted 2" lift and 33"s. At full lock the fron tyres are rubbing on the front Mud flap.

What's the easiest solution for this. Thinking of making the mud flap thinner? Im sure that this has happened b4.

Are there any other points that the tyres will rub that anyone can tell me?

Thanks,

Captain.

2 pieces of flat bar alloy will do, one each side of the mudflap, 3 bolts to hold them on.
Then a small chain from them to the side steps.

Works for me.. although my 33's dont rub.

I did what Bogged said, but i just used a big washer on the wheel side of the mud flap instead of a bar. Otherwise you can get spacers from Big Balls (for $50 I think from memory) to space your radius arms forward a little, this would be better if you're going for bigger tyres later on maybe?

Cheers,

Paul

The front tyres are actually rubbing in the mud flap metal mounting at full lock, just lifting the flap up with a chain wont help im thinking.

Spacers sound the go, othwise ill just have to do some mods on the mount.

Cheers for the help,

Captain.

And yes bigger tyres down the track..... hmmmmmmmm.

If it isn't hitting by too much you could grab a hammer and hit the spot where it is rubbing. That bracket sticks out a fair way. Check it out, see how much and where it is rubbing to make sure it is worth it. Those mud flaps aren't cheap.
