I'm still searching for my first sierra and I recently just missed out on a 92 soft top with 250,000km (but owned by an aircraft mechanic, it was in good nick) with virtually no rust.
It was only $2,500, I know that I probably missed out on a good deal, but I'm just curious how much everyone else has paid for their suzukis. It'd be good for all ppl buying to get a rough idea on price. Thanks guys
Nick

That's aboyut what I thought they should be, just seems to be what a lot of ppl ask for them, well this is gunna suck caus i think i got ripped off:
92 soft top, good cond, body was clean and straight no rust...
never been offroad (or hadnt appeared to)
umm racv 100% approved..
200k on the clock
manual...
$5000
I wouldn't mind something like that!!bought my 91 SWB soft top with minimal dents and a nearly stuffed motor for $700. 5 brand new 235/75R15 M/T's.Not bad i thouight.
Another one I looked at the other day was an '85 softtop for $1600 with a bad soft top, quite a few dints and the motor was not all that great - 250,000km but had obviously been abused
Anyway, all these replies are great, thatnks guys - keep 'em comin'
Nick
i wish they were that cheap, usually they sell for more than they're actually worth
i paid 3500 for my 89 tintop 'bout a year ago, reco engine with 230Kish and lots of rust work that had been done really badly... but it was the best i could fine at the time

single owner 192000kms '92 softie, complete service history, new tyres 12mnths rego, no rust, stock
$4000
since seen cheaper but never with the owner since new.
Now i'm looking for a fix er up '82 for under $1000
Funny how some people want up to $2000 for various years with blown head gaskets.
I've seen some dealer adds that seem to good, you ring up and they say 'no that ones sold but i got a similar one for $400 more.. etc'
Some peoples dishonesty make me angry

Suzuki, Jeep & Toyota Soft tops with welded seams for SALE (PM me)
I paid $5750 for a 92 with owner from new. 150000ks
It had rust cut out and fixed, which never became a problem.
I had to recon the head soon after because a dodgy mechanic lied and said it was the problem..... the starter motor was the problem!
So that was another $1000
Then I brought a new set of muds and which cost $1200
Then some time late I got bored with that and spent another $4000 in parts....
Then I sold it for $3000
Now shane has spent another $10000....
Who da fark said zuks were cheap!
Now I need to buy another one! I'm getting desperate, but like stumped said, they usually sell for more then they are worth.

paid $2000 for my 89 model vitara, JX, soft top, no power anything, and in pretty poor condition with about 160,000k on the clock, but engine and gearbox had been reconditioned about 20,000k ago at that time.
spent way too much just to get it drivable on road, wheel bearings, oil, etc etc, doors were falling off, top was ripped etc etc.

Bent over and paid $4000 for an unregested 84 1ltr 4speed table top that belonged to a roo shooter. Spent another 3k doin' stuff. Blew the motor and am in the process of putting a 1.3 GTI 5 speed into it. Pull like a room full of schoolboys!! All up add another 3.5k. Tip: don't buy table tops as they are very xxxxy!

my lwb 83 was $4800, but they were rarer and dearer back in the mid 90's.
It came with a full hard top, and a soft top, which was of poor standard.
We left it in his name, giving me time to do rwc and reg, it passed with minor work.

you would think so, but there seems to be more for sale at cheaper prices, these days. Maybe people hung on to them back then?nickw86au wrote:Would they not be rarer now...?my lwb 83 was $4800, but they were rarer and dearer back in the mid 90's.
I had to travel to the country to get one.
Only found 3 to inspect, 2 were way over my budget.
