Jacked Jimny

Post by bigsteve »

Hi All,

I was at Total 4wd last Friday, there was a Suzuki Jimny with what I think was an 8 inch (4 inch spring, 4 inch body) lift on 31's

Looked very tall,(Taller than me) some interesting little bits of customisation though, I liked the :) Painted on the diff pumpkin.

Anybody seen it??
Or does anybody here own it???

Not very wide, 10.5 MTrs on standard back spaced rims.

Didn't look like it had seen much offroad but certainly was a head turner.

It's 4 inch suspension plus 3 inch bodylift ( We supplied the kits)
The new version of the suspension on these includes johnie jointed rear ranchos.
Strangely Greg from GRP's girlfriend ( 4 inch lifted jimny) has also painted a smiley on her rear diff....must be something about jimny owners.

There is this red Jimny in marrickville here in sydney that looks the same in suspension lift. This one looks like it has after market trailing arms as well. :?

Are they just as good as their older brother, the siera?

I saw a white Jimny down @ the 4WD Jamborree at Duneedoo which was lifted. It looked real tuff :finger: but it didn't do very well on the all-terrain challenge. :?
Dont know if it had lockers or not

I dunno - I'd be absolutely terrified it would roll over with over 10 inches of total lift (including tyres) and bugger all extra width (you said standard rims).

Hope they're buying some big-a$$ offset wheels for it soon.

Watched a highroof holden drover with lift and 31"s and no extra offset a while back. The driver was really good - but it was bl00dy terrifying to watch.

Thats not so bad, my old zook was an 85 NT with spoa, 2 1/2 inch suspension lift and 33's. I know it was top heavy, but it never actually went completely over.

That Jimny pictured ( is peter) and wasn't the one that stuffed up, it was his team mate (jason) who was in front of him and had the trouble. The other Jimny that you refer to is rockhoppered and diff locked btw.
