Leaf spring prices

Hello Guys.

I need to replace the leaf springs in my sierra and after reading lots of info about spring using the search buttom, I still have doubts about what brand to go.

My plans for next year are to fit MTR 30" a body lift and transfer gears.

What prices have you guys paid lately and what brand?

I'm in Sydney so any address is a bonus.

spring it over with RUF on some stock leaves, and run 31's =)

i ran Lovells 2" lifted and they are fantastic - alot of guys recommend the OME tho

Just today i was in the local ARB store and got quoted roughly $100 each for front and $130 each for rear Old Man Emu springs, which from what i've heard give 2-2.5" lift and better ride and flex. Urethane spring bushes were an extra $36 per spring.

So, should I get a set of OME rears and do the RUF?

Don't want to go SPOA. 31's, well, I rather 30's and keep the gearing close to stock with a series 1 than reving a lot in a series 3 with 31's. I think series 3 needs 33's. (correct me if I'm wrong)

I bought 4 x rear HD OME Dakar springs......

Reason is that the heavy duty has a full length secondary leaf unlike the light duty. I will be taking leafs out and believe the full length secondary will be a little stronger when axle wrap starts to play with smaller leaf.

To answer your questions....

All you have to do to play with the leaves is pull the centre bolt out and the leaves come apart......so yes I will be playing with amount of springs till I am happy with them.

Heavy duty springs are the only ones that have the full length secondary. If you want the full length secondary as I did go for the HD.

munecito - you already have S1 gears??? or you buying them? cos the calmini 5.14 set is 18.3 reduction - perfect for a 31" tyre.... and SPOA on flat springs will yeild way more flex than a 2" job that will require a bit of guard bashing to fit a 30", flex may also be limited by up travel on the opposing wheel...
