PowerTrax No Slip Locker.....Experiences and Thoughts Wanted

Any one had any experiences with these, or heard anything bad or good. My old man want to put one in the rear of his troopy. The PowerTrax guys put him onto it, they rekon its good as, but you would expect them to say that.
Any comments appreciated,
Alec

I've got a lockright in the front and it rocks. It's always there unlike an air locker. All the negative comments are from people that haven't driven with one.

This is not the Loc-Rite locker. I know what they are as I have one in the rear and a air locker in the front of mine. This is the No-Slip locker. I havent heard of one before, I asume they are a new thing. Both has their positives and negatives. The No-Slip might just be an altenative to the 2?
They are meant to work as effectively as a Loc-Rite but with out all the clunks and ratcheting etc.
Has any one seen or experienced a "No Slip" locker in Aus?

Sorry I can't help you on that one Surf, I am going through the process of elimination with Lockers for the front of my GQ, and most people I have spoken to have had bugger all problems with the ARB air lockers when installed correctly, I was looking at the new TJM pro locker but they are a no go for the GQ yet, and they are having alot of troubles supplying the parts to make em....or somethin.......and the full time lockers have always worried me (and others) with the tight turns syndrome... decisions---decisions.

This is FUD spread by the air locker brigade. To date there has been no really noticeable change to my turning circle.muddyperils wrote:and the full time lockers have always worried me (and others) with the tight turns syndrome...

Wait 3-4 months...they are in final development, due Feb-March, according to one Rep at the 4WD and Fishing show in Melb last week. Definitely NOT the only time he fielded that question during the show........muddyperils wrote:Sorry I can't help you on that one Surf, I am going through the process of elimination with Lockers for the front of my GQ, and most people I have spoken to have had bugger all problems with the ARB air lockers when installed correctly, I was looking at the new TJM pro locker but they are a no go for the GQ yet, and they are having alot of troubles supplying the parts to make em....or somethin.......and the full time lockers have always worried me (and others) with the tight turns syndrome... decisions---decisions.
George Carlin, an American Comedian said; "Think of how stupid the average person is, and realise that half of them are stupider than that".
Its for the rear of my old mans troopy who does about 98% road driving. Hes a tourer that does not want to get bogged when he does some hard stuff occasionally.hi-luxmadness wrote:why would you spend your hard earned on a NO SLIP locker, wouldnt it be cheaper to just weld up your stock diff
Welded just dosent suit this application.

I asked the guys up here at Newy and they couldn't get one for a Toyo at the moment either..I'm not waiting that long...
Hey Surin Alec, those Power trax lockers look the goods, but price would be my deciding factor....

I got a powertrax in the front of my 60series. Was in there when i bought it.
No problems at all after learning how to drive with it in (after all, as soon as your in 4wd your driving with the front locked up. Only pain to memory was steep declines with tight turns was a bit scary... but im sure you would get that with all locked fronts.
Just my 2c.

if that's the case, he doesn't need a diff lock, he needs a winch. Anything "hard" enough to need a locker on tour is obviously optional.Surfin Alec wrote:

Free air locker to the first 20 callers!
Yeah but then he is doing some club trips now and then theres the times he comes away with me and I cant help to take him places that would just make it easier on his bus if he was rear locked.dumbdunce wrote:if that's the case, he doesn't need a diff lock, he needs a winch.
